SPRING GREEN KITCHEN REMODEL

This kitchen remodel addresses a number of problems.  Lighting consisted of one ceiling fixture and one halogen light over the sink; the layout of cabinets and lack of separation between the kitchen and dining area accentuated the long narrow appearance of the room; the only door to the back rooms of the house led traffic through the kitchen.

The new design eliminates the door into the kitchen.  The refrigerator was recessed 18” to create room for a future island in the middle of the kitchen;  the previous 1/2 bath was redesigned to serve as a closet in the adjoining guest bedroom; an arch between the kitchen and adjacent dining area gives each room a separate identity to break up the long narrow space; multiple light fixtures create better task lighting as well as beautiful ambient lighting.
