BLACK EARTH STUDIO

General Contractor:  JG Development, Mount Horeb Wisconsin

This simple 826-square foot building contains a one-car garage and shed on the ground level, with living space and a studio above.  Two sets of sliding glass doors provide views, light and access to the deck.  High windows on the north side provide balanced light, cross-ventilation and a view of the rock outcropping on the site.  A dynamic quality is given to the interior space with asymmetrical scissor trusses.  The rustic materials palette includes cedar  and reclaimed metal siding, standing seam metal roofing, stone veneer,  cork plank flooring and reclaimed wood interior trim.
