DRIFTLESS AREA HOME

General Contractor:  Bluestone Custom Homes LLC
Landscape Design:  Forrmecology

This rural home has approximately 2,400 square feet of finished space.  It is designed for its hillside site, with main living spaces and master bedroom suite on the upper level.  Two additional bedrooms, an office and workout room are on the walkout lower level.

The home takes advantage of its south-facing location by placing the living area, dining area, office and all three bedrooms on the south side of the house.  The south-facing stairwell has an extra large window to bring in light as well.

The entry hall has a clerestory window.  The living area and master bedroom have vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings.

In addition, there is a screen porch off of the kitchen which is open on three sides and has views of the nearby rock outcroppings.

The exterior combines light green siding with darker green trim.  Red windows provide a striking contrast.  The home is made up of two rectangular volumes, one with lap siding and the other with board and batten siding.

The builder, Bluestone Custom Homes LLC,  collaborated closely with me throughout the project.
