CURRENT PROJECT - HOLLANDALE PRAIRIE STYLE HOME

This home, currently in the schematic design phase, displays some of the common traits of the Prairie Style:  Hipped roofs, broad overhangs,  simplicity of ornamentation, and horizontal bands of materials and windows (notice the change of materials below the window sills on the upper story).

The home does take some liberties with the Prairie Style by adding a deck and a covered porch across the front of the home.  More typically, the covered porch of a prairie style home would be a wing coming off of the main body of the house, its roof supported by a couple of massive columns rather than the smaller wood posts shown here.
